Independent Medical Evaluation
An independent Medical Evaluation is sometimes requested by patients, health insurance companies or lawyers. It is usually a one-time clinic visit to Physicians Center lasting an hour. A patient-doctor relationship is not established during the clinic encounter and our physiatrists will not take over your medical care. However, our doctor will prepare a comprehensive medical report, including pertinent physical examination findings, diagnosis, treatment and other recommendations for your condition.
During the clinic visit, our physiatrist will take a complete medical history and perform a thorough physical examination on you. Our doctor will also do an exhaustive review of all your previous medical records, including past diagnostic studies and treatments. The review of your previous medical records, usually done before or after your clinic visit, may take a few hours for our physiatrist to complete. The review of your past medical records is very important and will be incorporated in the final medical report.
