Physicians Center of Physical Medicine

As physiatrists, we emphasize the multidisciplinary team approach to treat you, utilizing conservative methods to control pain, restore function and improve your quality of life.

Our Staff

Julie Kubiak, BA, MA Senior Therapist/Exercise Physiologist
	Julie has been employed by Physicians Center of Physical Medicine since 1994 she is the senior therapist at the Portage clinic. She provides treatment for musculoskeletal disorders and has works directly with the physicians. In addition to her full time work she also does personal training at the Portage clinic and home settings. She has had experience with sub-acute rehabilitation dealing with closed head injury, strokes, total joint replacement, and ventilator patients. She did an internship at Western Michigan University with the sports teams (football and volleyball) which she did sport conditioning with their head strength and conditioning coach. She also through Physicians Center of Physical Medicine deals withindustrial rehabilitation. Julie has attended eight professional seminars on current rehabilitation and physical training topics over the past 15 years.

Steve Dolislager, C.O.T.A.
	He started working with us on 1996. His interests include ergonomics, industrial rehabilitation, job coaching and job analysis. He played two years of junior college baseball, which started his interest in the rehabilitation field. Steve graduated in 1996 with an associate degree in occupational therapy assisting at Grand Rapids Community College, and became registered as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in May of 1996.


Alman Rodriguez
	Alman is a Registered Physical Therapist. He also holds another license to practice physical therapy in the State of New Jersey. He has worked as a clinical coordinator in the early years of his career. He has over 20 years of working experience in the field and most of his experience dealt in an in-patient rehabilitation setting, nursing home, home health and the last several years in out-patient setting. He has been exposed to a variety of clinical conditions such as neurologic conditions, joint replacements, musculo-skeletal problems, cardio-respiratory conditions, decondition syndromes and work-related injuries. His exposure to geriatric and adult population has given him the opportunity to deal with different situations in a more compassionate caring way. He joined Physicians Center of Physical Medicine in the late 2007 as a full-time staff. He has taken numerous continuing education seminars to further hone his skills as a clinician.

Kelly Campbell	Kelly began working at Physicians Center in 2011. She is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. As a recent graduate, Kelly has had a variety of work and intern experiences in the rehabilitation field, including geriatric rehab, hand and shoulder therapy, stroke and brain injury rehabilitation. Her interests lie in upper extremity orthopedic injuries of the shoulder, elbow and hand. She has a Bachelors and Masters of Science, Western Michigan University, Occupational Therapy.


Staci Emery, C.M.A.
	Staci has been employed with Physicians Center of Physical Medicine since 1991. She came to our office with 10 years experience in the medical field. She is the office supervisor for our Portage clinic. She specializes in Electrodiagnostic Medicine and is our nerve conduction study technician here at Physicians Center. Staci is registered and certified with the American Association of Medical Assistants.

Gayle Thurmand, R.M.A.C.
	Gayle has been employed with Physicians Center of Physical Medicine since 1995. Gayle specializes in Fluoroscopic-guided injections and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She is our fluoroscopic technician and our nerve conduction study technician here at Physicians Center. She also assists Dr. Visser in programming implantable Drug-delivery systems. She is a 1995 graduate of Davenport College's Medical Assistant Program. She is registered with the American Medical Technologists.

Debi Genisio	Debi has been employed with Physicians Center's since 2002. She came to Physicians Center with 30+ years experience in customer service and business administration. She works in the Portage office as a Clerical and Referral Coordinator. Debi also assists with patient care as needed and daily charge entry.

Krista Johnson	Krista has been employed with Physicians Center of Physical Medicine since 2007. She came to Physicians Center with 8 years customer service experience. Krista works in the Portage office as a clerical and insurance authorization coordinator.

Louise Vanderberg	Louise has been employed with Physicians Center of Physical Medicine since 2006. She came to our office with 20+years adminstrative secretarial and customer service experience. Louise is the supervisor for our Battle Creek Office. She oversees the daily activities at the clinic. She also handles scheduling, referrals, and authorizations as well as the daily charge entry.

Kelly Oswalt, M.A.
	Kelly has been employed with Physician's Center of Physical Medicine since 2005. Previously she worked six years in the OB/GYN medical field. Kelly assists Dr. Muzjlakovich with patient care and nerve conduction studies at the Battle Creek Office. She has her Medical Assistants Associates Degree from KVCC


Stephanie Miller, CMA
	Stephanie primarily works in the Battle Creek clinic in the front office. She is the medical assistant for both, Dr. Visser and Dr. Guerrero, aiding in injection preparation, EMGs, and patient preparation. She, also, assists Dr. Muzljakovich as needed. Stephanie is dedicated to the patients, ensuring that they receive the care and treatment they need. Stephanie is a 2011 graduate of Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Medical Assistant Technology Program.



Laura Cahill
	Laura has been employed with Physicians Center of Physical Medicine since 1994. She has been in the medical field for 24 years. She primarily works out of our St. Joseph location. Laura oversees the daily activities in the St. Joseph office including transcription, billing, scheduling and working with patient care.

Deb Timmons	Deb has been with Physicians Center since 2005. She came to our office with 20+ years administrative experience as well as direct customer service. Deb oversees the billing department here at Physicians Center.

Julie Stickels	Julie is new to our practice. She began working in our billing department June 2011. Julie comes to our office with 20+ years experience in health insurance and billing. She attended Davenport University and obtained her coding diploma in 2005.
